Selling for clients online

As a website consultant, I often work in different roles. Marketer, liaisons manager, researcher, administrator, IT trainer and the list can go on. Some roles I find comfort in, some I detest and in many I find opportunity.

A retail website client needed to invest resources for his new website but he was facing difficulties in marketing his products online. He realized that he also needed a dedicated a dedicated employee to maintain and run his website. Social media and search engine marketing was not aware of either.

I encouraged him to be active on his website and start getting returns on his investment but he could never find time to do so. For him, the online store was another responsibility and other priorities that he needs to address. He couldn’t give any time to it.

As Albert Einstein once said “In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity”.  I proposed a solution to him in which I will update his website regularly with new products, do social media and search engine marketing and make his website popular online. He will get all this in return of a percentage of sales he does on the website.

It has been a month now and the sales are increasing. The website statistics show over 50% growth in traffic and I see a future of good sales of his product through the website. It is a lot of work in the beginning but I foresee good return on my investments too.
